Twitch Snooze

Setup guide

Hide what you are skipping. Keep your favourites visible.

01

Install and open the menu

  1. Install from your browser’s store, then refresh open Twitch tabs.
  2. Click the moon beside a channel to open its snooze menu.
  3. Open Hidden Content near the top of the sidebar to review rules. The extension’s toolbar popup also opens the manager.

Store installs do not need Developer mode. As checked on October 3, both Chrome and Edge have 0.4.2.

02

Choose when a streamer returns

Choose Today, 24 hours, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks or 1 month. Today ends at your next local midnight. One month uses the calendar date, rather than a fixed 30 days.

Snoozing hides supported sidebar rows and stream cards. It does not unfollow the channel, cancel a subscription or prevent you from opening the channel directly. Playback and chat stay available.

Expired rules stop applying automatically. If your browser was closed when a rule expired, the channel can return when you next open Twitch.

03

Hide a category

Open Hidden Content and select Categories. Enter the category name as Twitch shows it, then choose Hide. Choose Show beside a saved category to remove that filter.

Global category filters hide matching Browse tiles automatically. They also apply to supported sidebar rows and stream cards when their category is known. Unknown categories stay visible. A collapsed sidebar may need an expanded row or a matching loaded stream card to identify the category.

The inline option Hide here until they switch hides that streamer in their current category. They return when they change categories, and the rule applies again if they return to the hidden category.

04

Keep favourite streamers visible

In Hidden Content, select Whitelist and add a channel name or Twitch channel URL. You can also use Always show this streamer from a channel’s snooze menu.

The whitelist overrides snoozes and category filters. It keeps a favourite visible even when they play a hidden game. Existing rules remain saved underneath; removing the streamer from the whitelist allows those rules to apply again.

05

Review and restore hidden content

The Streamers tab includes saved streamer rules and category matches currently loaded in your open Twitch tabs. It is not a list of every streamer on Twitch. Search for a name and choose Restore to bring a streamer back.

Restoring removes that streamer’s own hide rules. If a global category filter still hides them, restoring makes an exception for that streamer in the category. Use the whitelist when you want them visible across all categories.

Rules are stored in this browser profile and apply across your open Twitch tabs. They survive a browser restart, but do not sync between devices.

06

When something is missing

The moon or Hidden Content menu is missing

Check that Twitch Snooze is enabled and has access to Twitch, then refresh the page. Expand the sidebar if you are looking for a channel’s inline menu. Open the extension’s toolbar popup to reach the manager.

A hidden category is still visible

Check the category name against the label shown by Twitch, and check the channel’s whitelist or category exceptions. Unknown categories stay visible. If a Browse tile remains after filtering, refresh Twitch and include the page URL in a bug report.

Restore worked, but the channel disappeared again

Another saved rule may apply after the category changes. Check Categories and the streamer’s saved rules, or add them to the whitelist to keep them visible.

Can I still open a channel in a new tab?

Yes. Right-click, middle-click and Ctrl-click on the channel link keep their normal browser actions. Use the separate moon button for the snooze menu. Escape closes the extension’s open menus.

For a bug report, send the Twitch page URL, browser and extension version, category or channel name, and which control failed.

Need a hand?

Include the page link and your extension version.
